How It Works

Hire a bike box in five simple steps

Everything you need to know about hiring a bike box and flying with your bike — from booking to returning.

Step by step

Your journey from booking to boarding

1

Find your nearest hub

Use our location finder to search by postcode or address. We have 30+ hubs across the UK and abroad. Filter by the services you need — packing, rebuild, delivery, or box type.

2

Choose your dates and add-ons

Pick your collection and return dates (minimum 7 days). Choose between our EasyFit box (£11/day) for larger bikes and MTBs, or Premium box (£7.10/day) for road and gravel bikes. Then add any services you need: packing (£79.99), rebuild (£79.99), tracking (£0), or delivery. Pay securely online — your booking is confirmed instantly.

3

Collect your box (or have it delivered)

Visit the hub on your collection date and show your QR code. If you've booked packing, drop your bike off and the hub will pack it for you — go for a coffee and pick it up about an hour later. If you've booked delivery, the hub will bring the box to your door. You can add tracking (£0) to follow your box in real time.

4

Fly with your bike

Take your box to the airport and check it in as oversized luggage. The box protects your bike during transit. Flying to Majorca? Our partner shop Pollensa Cycling can rebuild your bike on arrival, store the box, clean your bike, and pack it for the flight home.

5

Return the box (or have it collected)

When you're back, return the box to the same hub by your return date. If you've booked the rebuild service (£79.99), the hub will unpack and rebuild your bike for you. If you've booked delivery, the hub will collect the box from your door. We'll send you a reminder the day before it's due back.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

+What bikes fit in the box?

Our Premium box fits most road, gravel, and hybrid bikes. The EasyFit box is larger and can accommodate mountain bikes and bikes with wider handlebars. Use our box finder to check, or just message us if you're unsure.

+Do I need to disassemble my bike?

You'll need to remove the wheels and pedals. For the Premium box, you'll also need to remove the handlebars, but handlebars can stay on for the EasyFit. If you book the packing service, the hub will do everything for you.

+What is the packing service?

For £79.99, the hub will professionally pack your bike into the box for you. Drop your bike off, go for a coffee, and pick up your packed box about an hour later. You'll choose a preferred time at checkout and the hub will confirm over email.

+What is the rebuild service?

For £79.99, the hub will unpack and rebuild your bike when you return from your trip. Drop off the packed box, go for a coffee, and pick up your bike about an hour later. Book both packing and rebuild together for £150.

+Can I have the box delivered?

Yes — hubs in London and Surrey offer a delivery service. The hub drives to your address to deliver and collect the box. Price is based on distance. You can also use our London courier service for a flat fee of £80.

+Can I track my box?

For £0, you can add real-time tracking to your booking. Follow your box on a live map from your phone. Tracking is included free if you order a trip poster.

+What if I need the box for longer?

You can extend your booking directly from your account. Just log in, go to your booking, and click Extend. Additional days are charged at the same daily rate.

+Is the box airline-approved?

Yes. Our boxes are designed specifically for air travel and are accepted by all major airlines as oversized/sporting equipment luggage.

+What about flying to Majorca?

Our partner shop Pollensa Cycling in Port de Pollença offers rebuild, storage, bike cleaning, and packing services. Select Pollença as your destination during checkout and choose the services you need.
